About Late Starter Cello Weekend
A unique opportunity to spend a weekend playing the cello ensemble music with others in an encouraging and supportive environment.
What is the course about?
This is a course specifically for cellists who are late starters or still early in their learning of the cello and who would like to grow in confidence. We will play cello ensemble music together, exploring the challenges of playing in groups and discussing the techniques of playing the cello. You will be sent the music we will play during the weekend in advance so you can feel well prepared for the course.
What will you learn?
Aspects of cello technique and ensemble playing.
By the end of this course you will be able to rehearse pieces in more depth and to apply any techniques discussed. Hopefully over the weekend you will have gained the confidence to “let yourself go” so you can play and think about the music and not worry so much about accuracy of notes.
How will the course be taught?
We will all stay together as group for the weekend. Music will be sent out and allocation of parts will be given four weeks before the course.
Will music be provided and do you need to prepare or bring anything?
Music will be sent out and allocation of parts will be given four weeks before the course.
You will need to bring a spike holder and a pencil.
