What is the course about?
International jazz performers Marco Marconi and Simone Gubbiotti lead this course offering all instrumentalists the opportunity to explore the many rhythms in Jazz.
In recent years rhythm has become a preponderant aspect of modern Jazz both in composition and in the approach to traditional jazz standards. The recent trend of fusion between different genres has dramatically increased the opportunities to use different rhythms in ensemble and solo playing.
The course will cover many of these aspects, covering talking about a variety of Jazz rhythms such as Latin, Bossa Nova, Salsa, Swing and Contemporary Jazz and discussing how to approach odd meters.
