CALL TO AUDITION
Benslow Music invites advanced singers to audition for solo roles in our renowned Baroque Opera Project, 6 – 12 April 2026.
Ending with a public staged performance of Jean-Philippe Rameau’s Pygmalion, with Baroque music specialist Fernando Miguel Jalôto as musical director and Catarina Costa e Silva as director-choreographer.
We are auditioning for the roles of
Pygmalion - High-tenor
Céphise - Soprano
L'Amour - Soprano
La Statue - Soprano
Supported by Benslow Music’s bursary scheme, successful auditionees will be offered a full bursary to cover their tuition, lodging and place on this prestigious course.
Please note, successful singers should be off-book by the start of the project.

Your CV/Biography, detailing your studies and any professional experience. If you have any specific dance or acting experience, please include this.
A VIDEO (3 minutes maximum) of yourself telling us why you would like to take part in this project.
A VIDEO recording of yourself performing an aria or song in French. This can be by any composer but you may like to perform an aria by Rameau or another French Baroque composer. Music for suggested arias can be found here.
A VIDEO recording of yourself performing a second aria from any Baroque composer in any language.
