Whether you're a young, promising player or preparing for advanced study, we’re here to support your musical journey. Read on to find out how to apply to borrow one of our high quality instruments or bows.

How to apply – step by step

Step 1 - Read our Terms & Conditions
They should answer most of your questions, but please check our FAQs or contact us - we’re here to help!

Step 2 - Complete the online application form.

Step 3 - Upload your documents, including:

  • Links to your recent video or audio recordings
  • Financial information (scanned or electronic copies)

Step 4 - If you’re application is successful, we’ll contact your teacher for a reference.

Step 5 - Within 30 days, we’ll send you a link to book your appointment at a time that suits you.

Who can borrow an instrument?

You can apply if: 

  • You’re aged 7 – 25
  • You and your guarantor both live in the UK
  • You’re in full-time education, including home-schooling
  • You receive regular lessons in your chosen instrument

You don’t have to be studying music at school or university, as long as you’re actively receiving tuition in your instrument.

What we look for

Most importantly, we’re looking for you to showcase your passion, commitment, and potential

  • You should have at least 2 years of learning in your instrument, but we can make exceptions
  • A good playing standard. Grades are not essential.

Financial support

We offer bursaries covering 10% to 100% of the annual loan fee for applicants with a household income under £60,000. If you’re eligible please fill out the bursary form and include the required documents.

Guarantors will need to provide proof of income. Independent post-graduate students may need to share their own financial details.
