Alison Eales
Clarinet, Saxophone
Alison Eales was an Exhibitioner at the Royal College of Music, studying clarinet and piano as joint first instruments. She is a member of several chamber ensembles, including the Max Bruch Trio and the Gregynog Ensemble, which has performed more than forty different clarinet quintets, including commissions. As a member of the British Clarinet Ensemble, Alison has toured abroad in Europe, the U.S.A. and Japan and she regularly performs clarinet concertos and as a recitalist.
Alison has a passion for teaching and held a post as Director of Music for many years, as well as examining for ABRSM. She formed the Hitchin Concert Band, originating with players from a Benslow course, which has now run for 30 years under her leadership, with around 45 members. Alison was recognised at a Buckingham Palace Garden Party for her services to adult, amateur wind playing.
