Debbie Barnes studied Bassoon and Piano at Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester, where she was awarded the Woodwind Prize. She took a place at the Royal Academy of Music, during which time she reached the woodwind semifinals of the BBC Young Musician of the Year competition, graduated with First Class Honours and was awarded the Bassoon Prize. Debbie now does a range of performing, conducting, classroom / private teaching and outreach work. Orchestral work has included The Hallè and Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment.
