Georgia Browne
Flute
Historical flautist Georgia Browne is one of the leaders in her field, collaborating with some of the today’s most exciting artists and ensembles. Having trained in The Netherlands she is currently principal flute with Ensemble Pygmalion with whom she has toured and recorded since 2011. She is regularly invited to play first flute with other French groups - Les Correspondances, Jupiter, Masques - and in the UK she performs with Arcangelo, the English Concert and the Dunedin Consort among others.
Over the years she has performed chamber music at international festivals and prestigious concert halls with Kristian Bezuidenhout, Isabelle Faust, Jonathan Cohen, Steven Devine, Nicholas Mulroy, Anna Dennis, Tom Foster, Jonathan Manson and Sophie Gent. Her recording output includes several award winning discs on the Harmonia Mundi label showcasing her obbligato flute solos as well as her album of flute music by Carl Friedrich Abel. Georgia has years of experience teaching adults and has held posts at a number of tertiary music institutions in the UK. She gives masterclasses wherever her musical adventures take her and has been invited to tutor at the Scottish International Flute Summer School.
