Jordan Potter
Viola
Originally from the North East of England, Jordan is an established and highly sought-after viola player, performing extensively throughout the UK and internationally. He studied at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, before completing further training at London's Royal Academy of Music where he specialised in Historical Performance under Jane Rogers, Rachel Podger & Margaret Faultless.
He currently holds the position of Principal Viola with The English Concert, and is a core member of the Academy of Ancient Music.
Regularly invited to play as Guest Principal Viola with other distinguished period instrument ensembles, his work has taken him to many of the world’s leading concert halls and festivals. Alongside his period instrument work, he is equally active in the modern repertoire, contributing to a wide range of performances and recording sessions for television, film, and radio.
Honing his listening skills and nurturing instincts, he complements his music career by practising as a therapeutic counsellor across a variety of professional settings, supporting a diverse range of clients.
