Marc Verter
PianoMarc Verter is a pianist, song accompanist and vocal coach. He is currently on staff as a vocal coach at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, the Mediterranean Opera Studio and Festival in Sicily, and an accompanist in collaboration with the Jette Parker Artist’s Programme at the Royal Opera House. Marc was a coach and pianist for Stimme, Leib & Seele programme in Salzburg alongside soprano Brenda Rae and regularly plays for master classes by Chen Reiss in the Holistic Voice Academy in London. He runs the annual Cratoule singing programme in southern France. He has played for studios of some of the great voice teachers: Yvonne Kenny, Gioacchino (Jack) Livigni, Nelly Miricioiu and Marie McLaughlin and coaches their students in preparation for auditions, operatic roles and concerts. Previous opera engagements have included Aix en Provence festival, Opera pa Skeret programme in Sweden, the Dartington festival in the UK and the double bill for Opera Pegasus in 2023. He has performed at music festivals in North America, Europe, Israel and has played for such internationally renowned singers as Nelly Miricioiu, Yvonne Kenny, Jonathan Lemalu, Kate Royal, Sarah Walker, Chen Reiss, Mark Glanville and many others. Recordings include recital with soprano Ilona Domnich (Quartz 2009), Robert Franz lieder (MPR 2018), Piano pieces by Tamara Konstantin (Naxos 2019) and songs by Mieczyslaw Weinberg with bass-baritone Mark Glanville (Challenge – release expected 2026). Past projects have included salon themed programmes with actors and musicians, a curated programme of songs by Immigrant composers with students at the Guildhall School and research into music repressed by the Third Reich in Europe. A collaboration with Vienna University (MDV) will lead to the publication (by Schirmer) of new songs by holocaust survivor Edouard van Cleeff.
