Nathan Knight
Double bass
British Double bassist Nathan Knight is an active orchestral and chamber musician. He studied at the Royal Academy of Music and won the Orchestral Regency Award. He then went on to study postgraduate diplomas at the Royal Northern College of Music and Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance under the tutelage of Leon Bosch.
Currently, Nathan regularly performs with many of the UK’s premier orchestra, chamber ensembles and session orchestras. Highlights include performing Schubert’s Trout with the Frith Piano quartet, Royal Academy of Music Sainsbury Soloists' performances for BBC Radio 3 and Buckingham Palace, Aurora Orchestra (BBC Proms 2019), the 12 Ensemble Miloš Karadaglić Tour, Decus Ensemble’s Hidden Sounds Project and Kano’s Glastonbury 2021 performance.
Throughout his career he has also been an active educator, having worked with Kuumba Youth Music and as a music leader for Multi-Story orchestra’s Digital Music Schools Tour 2021. He has also worked as a Royal College of Music Spark’s workshop leader, double bass tutor for Sistema England and Brent Music Council, and performed recitals for the Young Artists Musical Ambassadors (YAMA) Programme.
