Peter grew up in a musical household with the preference on early music. At the age of two he got his first viol. He had regular lessons on the recorder and the viol, with the harpsichord and organ following a few years later.
As a teenager he began to perform regularly in different early music groups on the viol, recorder and renaissance instruments. Before taking his A-levels, he enrolled at the music college in Koeln to study the viol. He then went on to complete 4 years with W. Kuijken in Den Hague.
During his studies Peter began to teach many students privately and at summer schools.
Peter loves to play in small groups and as a soloist and is taken very much by the sound of the Pardessus which reaches places a bass viol can not touch.
The Rose Consort of Viols as well as Charivari Agreable are just two groups Peter performs regularly in.
