About Imagine, Breathe, Sing

An in-depth course on how the imagination and good breath control inform our vocal technique and interpretation.

What is the course about?

In a relaxed and friendly atmosphere this course is designed to enable you to use your voice to the best of your ability, developing your vocal technique and maximising the full potential of your voice.

Tutor Brian Parsons is an experienced singer and teacher and will tailor your individual sessions to your own needs. You will be given vocal exercises (basic and advanced), advice on presentation, interpretation and repertoire. You will also be encouraged to comment and share any thoughts you have as a result of your experience.

What will you learn?

By the end of this course you will have:

  • gained deeper knowledge of your chosen repertoire
  • gained confidence in performance of your songs
  • enhanced your interpretative and technical skills

How will the course be taught?

This course is taught in masterclass style. All participants attend every session and hear each other sing and create a supportive atmosphere. Feedback is given by Brian to encourage performing skills in a friendly and supportive way.

Who is the course for?

This course is designed for singers of all voice types at the Improver and Confident levels (please see our Ability Levels Explained for further details).

Will music be provided and do you need to prepare or bring anything?

Participants are asked to choose at least three pieces to bring to work on during the course. Please aim to select pieces in contrasting or complementary styles and language. Although preferable, your songs do not have to be sung from memory but a good knowledge of the chosen music is needed.

Your will need to inform us of your chosen pieces in advance of the course.

It's absolutely great! First-class non-judgmental tuition, enthusiastic and encouraging fellow students, inspiring surroundings, simple clean accommodation and very good food.
