Consone Quartet
Ensemble
The Consone Quartet is one of the leading period-instrument ensembles of their generation and the first quartet of its kind to be selected as BBC New Generation Artists. Known for their refined, expressive playing and deep commitment to historically informed performance, they bring fresh insight to Classical and early Romantic repertoire. Their international career spans major festivals, recordings, and residencies, all marked by clarity of sound, stylistic sensitivity, and exceptional ensemble communication.
As tutors, they offer a collaborative, supportive approach grounded in years of professional quartet experience. The members of the quartet have worked with students at the Royal College of Music in London, Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester, the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and New England Conservatory in Boston. The group holds a "visiting quartet" position with Sheffield's Music in the Round where they work closely with the South Yorkshire community and their work is supported by the Frost Trust.
