Sarah Murphy is a flautist, composer, and music facilitator based in Northern Ireland. She works regularly with Elizabeth Walker, who she met and studied with at the Royal College of Music and then at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. They have enjoyed working together on a variety of musical projects ever since. Sarah has a portfolio career as an international performer, workshop facilitator, music consultant, and, increasingly, commissioned composer. As a performer, Sarah's varied career as a freelance flautist has involved playing with orchestras, chamber ensembles, and both contemporary and world music groups. As a tutor, she has a private practice in Derry, Northern Ireland, enjoys teaching people worldwide online, is the Flute tutor for the University of Ulster, and teaches annually on the Flutes in Tuscany summer course. In 2010, Sarah co-founded Wall2Wall Music, a music company that designs and delivers creative music workshops based on collaborative composition and performance. She has also worked as a Creative schools associate and delivered training for music teachers. She is a sought-after facilitator experienced at engaging people of all ages and ability levels, making them feel comfortable, and helping them achieve their goals.
