Theresa Goble
Voice
Theresa Goble, mezzo soprano, was born in Portsmouth and studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the National Opera Studio, supported by scholarships from the Royal Opera House Covent Garden and Scottish Opera, where she was a company member for four years.
She has appeared as a soloist with major UK companies including English National Opera, Scottish Opera and Opera Holland Park, and has performed widely across Europe and the USA. Her roles include Dalila (Samson et Dalila), Ulrica (Un Ballo in Maschera), Amneris (Aida), Carmen and Kundry (Parsifal). She has worked with dis)nguished conductors and coaches including Sir Alexander Gibson, Leonard Bernstein, Leonard Hancock and David Syrus.
Alongside her performing career, Theresa is an internationally respected voice teacher. She joined the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 1990 and has also held teaching positions at Bedales School and Royal Holloway, University of London. Her work has taken her internationally through masterclasses, summer schools and examining, and since leaving Guildhall in 2025 she has taught in Berlin, Hong Kong and New York.
A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Theresa is known for her holistic approach, combining Bel Canto technique with educational kinesiology and performance psychology. Her research has explored how these methods support learning in developing musicians. In 2012 she co-founded Vox Integra, delivering specialist training courses across Europe.
