What is the course about?
In this exciting course, Alastair and Gerard will guide your playing in ensembles ranging from quartets to whole sax choirs. You will explore a wide range of repertoire across all styles and will benefit from their wealth of experience. In this friendly and supportive atmosphere, you will be coached in ensembles, technique classes and receive individual attention to any issues you may have. The course is taught in a friendly, dynamic, and mutually supportive atmosphere, and is also very good fun!
What will you learn?
The course is aimed at improving sight reading and chamber music skills as you work through a range of repertoire for saxophones. The tutors have a large library of saxophone music and tips to improve playing are added in throughout the course. Variety is key to this course; in one session you could be playing Van Morrison’s ‘Moondance’ in an octet and in the next some Bach in a quartet. As you journey through the course, you'll cover many styles of music including folk, jazz, classical and pop.

Sessions will be in groups of various sizes - everything from quartets to large ensembles.

Will music be provided and do you need to prepare or bring anything?
You do not need to prepare anything in advance. Hard copies of music will be provided by the tutors during the course.
