What is the course about?
Hone your ensemble's musicality and unique interpretive style with expert coaching from pianist Nigel Clayton and the Bingham Quartet, as they return with their popular weekend course for existing ensembles.
Whether you come as a string quartet, a piano quintet, a trio or sextet, this all-embracing chamber music course offers in-depth help with your chosen repertoire. You can choose from our two or three night options, and enjoy a glittering concert from the Binghams and Nigel Clayton on the Friday evening, included in your course fee.

How will the course be taught?
The course is designed to elevate your ensemble’s playing in your chosen repertoire, and will explore all aspects of chamber music playing, from the technical to the musical. You'll get to work closely with all five tutors, including each of the Bingham Quartet players and pianist Nigel Clayton, who will all offer detailed advice and insights tailored to your ensemble. Sessions include full group masterclasses, alongside one-to-one coaching and rehearsals. Peer feedback is also encouraged.
Who is the course for?
This course is designed for pre-existing string and piano ensembles who are looking to fine-tune their playing and help prepare for upcoming performances or showcases.
Will music be provided and do you need to prepare or bring anything?
You’ll need to choose a range of works you would like to workshop during the course. We recommend you familiarise yourselves with the music in advance to get the most from the coaching sessions.
