Steve Bingham is a violinist and conductor, with a wonderfully varied career. Steve trained at the Royal Academy of Music and has performed around the world as a founder member of the Bingham String Quartet, as well as a soloist and orchestral leader with renowned ensembles. Alongside his classical work, Steve has explored other musical paths, from electric violin and live-looping to performing with rock, pop, and folk bands. His recording catalogue reflects this eclectic spirit, ranging from unaccompanied Bach and Elgar orchestral works to Shostakovich quartets, Peter Gabriel covers, and newly commissioned pieces.
Beyond the concert stage, Steve is Director and CEO of the New London Music Association, which runs summer courses for adult amateur musicians, and he also works with ESTA UK (European String Teachers Association). A passionate wildlife photographer, he shares his growing collection of bird images online. His interest in creative technology - spanning web design, audio production, video editing, and innovative projects like PartPlay - adds yet another dimension to a career defined by curiosity, creativity, and a love of sharing music.
