Any remaining spaces at the end of the ballot will be released as part of general booking.

Once the ballot has closed, names will be drawn at random to allocate course places. You will receive notice of the outcome by Monday 6 July. Anyone not allocated a place will automatically be added to the waiting list and notified if a space becomes available.

What will you learn?

How will the course be taught?

You'll work in a variety of different groups, varying in size, and on different repertoire throughout the course. The tutors will select pieces and allocate you into groups while providing coaching throughout.

There will also be opportunities for you to explore you own choice of repertoire informally outside of tutored course sessions.

Who is the course for?

The course is designed for players at the Skilful level. Please see our Ability Levels Explained for further details.

You’ll need to be an enthusiastic and confident sight-reader, with a good level of skill - Grade 7 or 8 and above. You must be able to hold a single line within a chamber ensemble.

Will music be provided and do you need to prepare or bring anything?

Music will be shared in hard copies by the tutors during the course.

In addition to your instrument(s) and a pencil/rubber, please bring parts for any chamber music you wish to explore informally.
