Gardens

Nestled in a quiet corner of Hitchin, our gardens offer a tranquil retreat for visitors and musicians. You are welcome to wander freely through the grounds.
Our formal lawned garden has seating areas and beautiful planting. The informal areas include a peaceful woodland walk shaded by magnificent tree specimens. These wooded areas are home to a variety of trees, creating a rich tapestry of textures and colours throughout the seasons.
The gardens are designed to encourage quiet reflection and gentle exploration, with winding paths leading to hidden corners and carefully chosen spots perfect for a moment of rest.
Also tucked away is our dedicated bee area, which includes fourteen active hives and a specially designed bee pond that supports pollinators and wildlife throughout the year. While the bees are a vital part of the garden’s ecosystem, we kindly ask visitors to take care not to get too close to the hives, especially during swarming season. The area is clearly marked for safety, and observing from a respectful distance allows you to appreciate their activity without disturbance.
Whether you're enjoying the dappled light of the woodland walk or watching bees at work, the gardens at Benslow Music offer a unique blend of natural beauty and quiet inspiration.
