Janet Hicks is an incredibly experienced violinist and tutor, with over 50 years’ experience teaching violin in schools as part of the Hertfordshire Music Service. She read music at the University of Birmingham where she subsequently won the Hayward Scholarship for instrumental studies. She has performed with the Macnaghten String Quartet, the Mid-Herts and Phoenix Quartets. Janet has been a tutor here at Benslow Music since the late 1970s. Today she continues to run courses for string players as well as leading the Hitchin Symphony Orchestra and Letchworth Sinfonia.
